Question 1

How does the membership work?

Accepted Answer

When you adopt a tree through our Membership, you connect directly with authentic Sicilian producers like Susafa. You'll receive a personalized certificate, regular updates with photos from your tree, and premium olive oil with the producer's own label, not ours.

Question 2

How much olive oil will I receive?

Accepted Answer

Each membership includes 4 x 500ml tins (2 liters) of premium extra virgin olive oil from the collected harvest of your personal tree. The oil is cold-pressed within 24 hours of harvest, tinned at the same grove where the tree grows, and features authentic producer branding.

Question 3

Is this a one-time purchase or a subscription?

Accepted Answer

Each membership is for one growing season (one year). You can renew annually to keep supporting your tree, or adopt a different tree each year. We'll send renewal reminders before each season.

Question 4

Can I visit my tree?

Accepted Answer

We're building member visit experiences at the estate. Until then, you'll receive seasonal photo updates so you can follow your tree through every stage, blossom, fruit, and harvest.

Question 5

What exactly comes in the box?

Accepted Answer

A personalized adoption certificate, the story of your producer, and 4 x 500ml tins (2 liters) of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil from your tree's harvest, tinned at origin with the producer's own label.

Question 6

What farming practices do you use?

Accepted Answer

Our producer partners use organic, sustainable farming methods rooted in generations of stewardship, prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and eco-conscious water and pest management. Olives are pressed within 24 hours of harvest, cold-extracted to preserve polyphenols, and stored in nitrogen-sealed stainless-steel tanks to lock in freshness.

Question 7

Why does the oil taste peppery or bitter?

Accepted Answer

That peppery kick at the back of your throat is the polyphenols, the natural antioxidants in fresh, high-quality extra virgin olive oil. It's the signature of oil pressed young and handled with care. A small cough is a very good sign.

Question 8

How should I store the oil?

Accepted Answer

Keep it in a cool, dark place, away from heat and direct light. Don't refrigerate it, cold causes condensation that harms flavor. Use it within a few months of opening, and enjoy it while it's young.

Question 9

What is the shelf life?

Accepted Answer

Extra virgin olive oil is best within 18–24 months of harvest. Look for the harvest date on your tin. Unlike wine, olive oil doesn't improve with age, it's best enjoyed fresh.

Question 10

When is the olive oil harvested and shipped?

Accepted Answer

Our harvest takes place between October and December. Orders placed and gifts redeemed after November 1 will ship with the upcoming harvest, expected in December. Your oil is cold-pressed within hours of harvest and tinned at the estate before it ships to you.

Question 11

Where do you ship?
